Washoe Tribal Health

Our mission is to provide the highest quality health and wellness services promoting resiliency of mind, body, and spirit for the Washoe people, American Indians, and Alaska Natives, in partnership with all communities throughout the Washoe Nation.

Our purpose is to prevent, improve, restore, and maintain the oral health of the community that Washoe Tribal Health Center serves and to provide dental services that are accessible to everybody’s needs.

Our Services

Comprehensive eye exams (children and adults)
Diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease (infections, glaucoma, cataract, macular degeneration, etc.)
Cataract surgery referrals and co-management
Eyeglasses, including progressives, transitions, anti-reflective coatings, prescription sunglasses, name-brand styles
Contact lenses

Our Specialty Services

Same day appointments available for urgent eye conditions (injuries, foreign bodies, infections, sudden vision loss); please call to make arrangements.
Glaucoma and Diabetic Exams: advanced diagnostic testing for diagnosis.
Grant funding available to help cover the cost of eyeglasses.
Special programs to cover the cost of eyeglasses for qualified seniors, children and Washoe Tribal members living in the service delivery area.

Our Principles

Prevent, improve, restore, and maintain the oral health of the community that Washoe Tribal Health Center serves.
Treat patients professionally, confidentially, and without discrimination based on income, race, insurance status, religion, or gender.
Evaluate and treat dental emergencies via dental treatments, prescriptions, consultations, or referrals.
Decrease the incidence of caries by applying fluoride treatment when indicated.
·Educate patients and children on appropriate oral care and the importance of a healthy nutritional program.
Integrate oral health with overall health.

Our Services

Oral diagnostic, preventive, and restorative services, as well as emergency services.
Patients needing services not offered at Washoe Dental are referred to other sources of care.
Laboratory work for the fabrication of removable and fixed prosthetics will be referred to outside laboratories based on the quality of their services and their ability to meet infection control standards.

- Foot and ankle injury
- Deformity care
- Wart Removal
- Laceration repair
- Diabetic foot care

- Musculoskeletal pain treatment
