We honor the life and legacy of Julie Wyatt-Barr, a respected elder and member of the Washoe Tribe, who served with dedication as an LPN Community Health Case Manager and Community Liaison from September 2013 until her passing in September 2023. A former Community Health Representative with the Washoe Tribal Health Center. Julie was a skilled and compassionate nurse who worked alongside many exceptional healthcare professionals, including Sheryl Osborn. Together they extended care to numerous patients who might not have otherwise had access to routine healthcare services.
With over 30 years of nursing experience, Julie returned to serve her community with deep commitment and humility. Her compassion, professionalism, and unwavering dedication to the health and wellbeing of others will be remembered by all who had the privilege to know and work with her. Her impact with the Washoe Tribal Health Center patients will continue to live on through the memories of those she helped. May she Rest In Peace, and may her legacy continue to inspire all of us in the healthcare field.
- In Loving Rememberance by Beez Wyatt
My memory/story of Julie- I got to know Julie by working with Beez in the referrals department for a few years. She was a very loving mother and was always making sure to take care of Beez. Their mother/daughter relationship was very close and endearing. I remember Julie used to always bring Beez breakfast and make sure she started her day off right and with love. Beez always called her Weegis and i still dont remember the story of why but it was so great to see the love between mother and daughter."
"Mother is she who can take the place of all others but whose place no one else can take.
